Making Your Research Work

Genecom Ltd is a company supporting the translation of science in the areas of animal health and welfare and crop science from the Moredun Research Institute, the Institute for Animal Health and Scottish Crop Research Institute. We also work with the Roslin Foundation and aim to provide solutions for these orgnisations with regard to the commercialisation of their research base.

How we can Help You?

We are here to serve the needs of the scientists at the partner Institutes, Moredun, Institute for Animal Health and the Scottish Crop Research Institute. Here, Genecom's function is to:

- Help translate science into new vacines and diagnostics

- Promote the expertise, knowledge, new science and inventions arising from the partner insitutes.

- Support company start-up and spin out

- Assist with licensing of IP

- Assistance in finding grants and investments

- Manage the Intellectual Property portfolio

- Carry out Market Research


Entrepreneurship training

Genecom, working with its partners including KKI Associates, Future Positive Consulting Ltd, Head Surf Ltd, Marks and Clerk European patent Attorneys and others, provides training in business skills aimed at scientists or entrepreneurs wishing to know more about business.

Funding

Find new grants and investments for translational science including BBSRC Follow-on FUnd, Genomia Fund, Rainbow Seed Fund, Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, Scottish Enterprise Proof of Concept Funding, RSE Fellowships etc., plus:

- Genecom's Concept Definition Fund Grants for scientists wanting to develop proof of concept and prototype tools

- Genecom's Orphans Project Grants for SME's wishing to work with or at IAH, Moredun or Roslin
