The Genecom Orphans Project is an initiative designed to encourage Scottish SME's, small businesses and entrepreneurs to develop new enterprise and business initiatives. It brings together new funding under European Structural funds with existing resources available to the Genecom project and is particularly relevant to businesses and entrepreneurs wishing to work with the scientists at the Moredun Research Institute, the Institute for Animal Health, or to access the intellectual assets of the Roslin Foundation and to utilise the facilities on the Pentlands Science Park and Roslin BioCentre.
Moredun Research Institute
The Moredun Research Institute (MRI) is internationally recognised for its work on infectious diseases of sheep and other ruminants.

Roslin Foundation
The Roslin Foundation is the charity created to administer the intellectual property of the Roslin Institute prior to its incorporation into Edinburgh University.
The Roslin foundation can provide links to the world famous facilities of the Roslin Institute and its scientists.
Roslin BioCentre
The Roslin Biocentre is a dynamic space for scientists to work and to carry out their research. Located next to the Roslin Institute it is ideally situated for companies or individuals looking to commercialize their science and technology.
Pentlands Science Park
The Pentlands Science Park is owned by the Moredun Foundation and extends to 22 acres and provides around 160,000 sq ft of high quality offices and laboratories for the Moredun Group and the other site tenants.
Pentlands Science Park is committed to providing high quality services and is active in encouraging collaboration between tenants as part of its commitment to the biotechnology sector.
